How Design Mag (February 2010 Issue) focuses on some new fonts—two caught my eye: Ysobel and FF Milo Serif (as has a sans). Ysobel should be available as a Monotype Pro font—so is an attractive option for InDesign users you work fractions, etc... In a nutshell, the font is a " elegant communicator." The weight stress is nearly vertical and hairlines are heavy enough to ensure character fidelity in small sizes. Based on Century Schoolbook, this font is a more lyrical alternative. For more info.,

FF Milo caught my eye and is, indeed, a popular font with magazine and publication designers. It is "a good reader," with an optimal x-height, stroke contrast and humanist letter shapes. It's a bit "chunky" to me, but obviously does its job as a readable, well designed font. I'm sticking with Berkley for now—but if I had the $648.00 to invest in the family, I would.
